My Favorite Things 007

It’s been four months since I last posted a “My Favorite Things” post, a month since I posted anything, AND 11 days (and counting) late in posting the annual “HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BLOG!!” post, so WHAT IS HAPPENING?!?

Honestly, I’ve been living an almost “one day at a time” existence recently and it is NOT good because I don’t plan ahead, I don’t keep track of my allowance budget, and I can’t remember most of what I did in the recent past. It’s actually very scary to live like this not only because of the same reasons I’ve previously stated, but also because what if I don’t get another tomorrow?

BUT ENOUGH OF THAT! I’m generally alright and happy. I had an exam yesterday which I only started studying for the night before (actually, less than 12 hours before the exam, to be precise). I got to answer most of the items, but I wasn’t able to answer one problem solving item (worth 5 points, I think) and I used the shotgun method on SOME of the multiple choice items. Not my best exam, but not my worst either, so I’m hoping that I still pass. My next exam/s (one final exam and probably one long exam) isn’t/are’t until next Monday, so this week shouldn’t be much of a hell week and I should REALLY start studying for those exams as soon as possible.

Now, moving on to the reason why the title of this post is “My Favorite Things 007″…

1. The Sea Lion

Hmm.. where do I begin? I’ve been wanting to apply since my second year in college, but I was only able to convince my mom to allow me to do so this semester. She didn’t really see why I had to join another organization, but I really wanted to join this one and she eventually gave in with the condition that I don’t let my grades slip because of it.

Never has there been a time wherein I regretted going to their place because it’s always fun to hang out with them, to get to know more about them, and to just chill there. It’s  relatively smaller than my other organization, but that’s one of the things I like about it. My friend’s been telling me how great it is and how it’s like her family in the university since our first year and I’m just really glad to feel how that’s like, even if I’m just an applicant as of writing.

My favorite memory, so far, would be our Timezone adventures (including all the stuff that we do before and after timezone). And, with that, let’s go to..

2. Timezone

Before this semester, I haven’t gone to a Timezone branch around my university, and now, I’ve gone to two. I think the main reason why Timezone is even in here is because of “The Sea Lion”. So rather than “Timezone”, it’s actually “Going to Timezone with friends”.

Right now, my favorite attractions in Timezone would have to be karaoke, “Just Dance”, and the photo booth. I guess this only proves my point that what I like most about Timezone is getting to hang out with my friends AT Timezone. Actually, anywhere is okay as long as I’m with them, to be honest.

3. Bonchon’s Bibimbowl

Recently, I’ve temporarily stopped my no-rice diet (of about 6 or 7 years..?) because I no longer see the point of depriving myself of such delicious rice meals if I’m going to eat pasta and bread anyway, especially since pasta dishes are normally more expensive. Although, after about 2-3 months of that, I’ve gained weight (a lot of weight, I think), so I’m probably going to slowly, but surely, go back to not eating rice.

But during this brief yet wonderful experience of eating rice again, I’ve discovered my fondness for Bonchon’s Bibimbowl! Well, I’ve had the pleasure of eating a LOT of different rice meals recently, but I guess it’s one of the dishes that stood out. It’s got lots of flavors, a hint of spice (The original’s kind of spicy, but the spicy’s just really spicy), and I usually get a serving that’s worth my money.

If you’d like to try it, I’d recommend the Original Chicken Bibimbowl simply because it’s my favorite.

4. The Greatest Showman

Okay, this one’s long overdue! I’ve loved to the soundtrack since January, watched the movie last March, and only including it in my favorite things now.

I immediately fell in love with “This is Me” the first time I heard it. I think I saw the trailer in the cinemas and I thought that I had to search for that song afterwards because it’s such a great song. I forgot to. BUT THEN I saw it in my Facebook feed (yes, I cried while listening to it again and again and.. you get the picture). It’s been a favorite of mine ever since (along with a few others that have equally touched my heart).

The next song I got hooked to was “Never Enough”. At first, I didn’t really get the song, but then I listened to it repeatedly and finally understood the song because of the line “Because darling without you~”. It was only mentioned once in the song, so I must’ve overlooked it at first but then it made the song make sense. Initially, I just thought that the song was about a person who would never be satisfied (Eyy, Angelica Schuyler!!), but then  it’s not. It’s about a person who, without her loved one, would never be satisfied. Coincidentally, it’s very similar to my other favorite song “Loser of The Year”. How hopeless of a romantic am I?

I could go on and on about why I like all the other songs in the soundtrack, but then I have a class at 2:30 pm, so I can’t. Though, My top 5 favorite songs from the soundtrack would have the two I’ve already talked about above, A Million Dreams, The Greatest Show, and “Rewrite The Stars”.

If you haven’t listened to it, you SHOULD listen to it. Right now. Like..

You’re welcome haha.

5. The Sims 2

The first time I played Sims was way back my childhood days because a neighbor of mine had it installed and we all went to his house to play. We made a playmates family of sorts and that was really fun.

Then, I convinced my parents to get it installed in our computer, too, and it was. I got addicted to at during 2nd grade, I think, so it had to be uninstalled.

Basically, I kind of have an on-off relationship with Sims 2 because we install it every other year, then eventually uninstall it afterwards. I thought of installing it again after my roommate installed it in her laptop about a month ago, so I don’t know until when we’d have it installed.

It’s actually a really nice game to play if you like building houses and controlling people (because it’s literally a simulation you control). But at some point, I guess, you just realize that your sim has a life and you don’t, so you just feel the need to stop. Well, just personal experience, I guess. This time, I think I’ve reached that point multiple times, but I just stop playing. I still don’t know when we’d uninstall it.

6. Kopiko 78

This is a TOP NECESSITY for all-nighters, which I’ve been pulling off rather frequently nowadays. It doesn’t always work, but it usually helps me get stuff done before I do eventually fall asleep.

You shouldn’t drink more than a bottle within 12 hours though (my personal rule) because it can also cause palpitation.

And you probably shouldn’t drink it (even a bottle) when you know you’re going to see your crush either, for the same reason.

7. B’lue

I’ve actually been drinking this frequently since last semester since it helps me overcome that “wanting to vomit” feeling I usually feel when I drink coffee, during the early hours of the morning, and during the commute I take going to school. I’m including it only now because I think I’ve been drinking it more than I drink water (which is bad) and it’s really refreshing, especially when you drink it cold.

The Lychee variant is a personal favorite of mine.

There you have it – 7 of my favorite things right now! I really should list down possible stuff to include in this segment  of my blog because it’s been FOUR whole months since I last posted the previous one and I only have 7!

I’m probably going to post a “Happy birthday, blog” post soon (and by that I mean hopefully in 2-3 weeks). I tried writing one last week, but I couldn’t really write a proper one at the time. My blog is SIX YEARS OLD now, so I think I’d have to do better than that.

IT’S ALREADY THE LAST DAYS OF THE SEMESTER AND I KNOW I’M GOING TO HAVE TO TAKE ANOTHER SEMESTER OF ONE OF MY MAJORS! I just learned that I failed my 3rd exam of Engineering Economics (I’m really sad tbh), but I’m not giving up on it or any of my other classes, really. I love my course I’m taking and the university I’m enrolled in. I’m going to survive this semester and I’m going to finish strong.

If I can do it, you can too! Don’t give up!

My Favorite Things 006

I didn’t have much of a hard time creating this board, but I don’t think it covers all of my “favorite things” during the two months that I didn’t post a board. But, these are things that I currently really like, so I guess this board still counts. Let’s begin!

1. Shakey’s Pizza

This one was also included in my previous “My Favorite Things” board because I really liked their food and it was quite notable since we didn’t get to eat there that often. I’m putting it up there now because our visits became more frequent over the past two months. I still very much cherish the times we get to go because it’s really quite price-y over there and the time and happiness I get to experience with my family is always priceless.

2. Riverdale (Season 2)

This season’s still on-going and I try to catch up with the episodes every weekend. Not only do the characters have so much personality and sides to them, but the story also has a lot of twist and turns! Those two combined in each episode really makes me on the edge EVERY FREAKING TIME!

3. Doctor Stranger

I started this Korean drama while studying for finals. Not the best timing, I know, but it was because I saw a clip on Facebook that got me curious about it. I only watched the first episode at that time because, duh, F I N A L S.

I watched the second episode this Tuesday and I HAVEN’T STOPPED WATCHING THE DRAMA EVER SINCE!! The story is really.. complicated, so I can’t explain it as properly as I’d like to. It’s called “Doctor Stranger” so it’s got a lot of medical stuff in it, along with a lot of political issues and hidden intentions, and the like. It’s got romance, which is kind of sprinkled everywhere cause’ it’s kind of the center of it all, but at the same time, it’s not. And some action, too. Really, this drama’s got pretty much everything, I think, and that’s what I like about it.

4. The Flash (Season 4)

If I’m not mistaken, this is the 3rd time I’ve included The Flash in here and that’s simply because it continues to be a really AWESOME show. The 4th season’s currently on-going and while it’s sad I can’t binge watch episodes, I like that there’s always new episodes every week. I think I can enjoy the episodes and the whole series that way.

There’s a new villain and, personally, I think he’s an asshole (sorry for the language, but he really kind of is). He’s a new guy and I’m pretty sure he didn’t show up cause’ of Barry. You know what I mean. The past two seasons revolved on conflicts that Barry (kind of caused) during the previous season, so it’s at least nice to see that it’s not Barry’s fault this time.

5. Turtles All The Way Down by John Green

I literally just finished this book a few minutes ago and it really is an amazing masterpiece! It’s a book that’s got a lot more than romance in it – it’s got mystery and it tackles mental health, friendship, and Star Wars.

I’ve never really been able to properly describe things through proper writing, but I hope you give this book a chance because the writing is wonderful (as always, thanks John Green), the characters have much depth to them, the story strikes a balance between the reader wanting to finish the book as fast as possible and the them wanting to take their time in reading it , and you sort of get a glimpse of some things that are difficult to understand.

Read it. Now.

6. Quesadillas

I’ve only eaten them during two events recently, but they’re REALLY good. I don’t get to eat that much Mexican food simply because we don’t get to eat at that many Mexican places. The second time was at Army Navy though and I liked it.

I think you get that I’ve only eaten it twice, so I can’t really describe it as well as I’d like right now, but I like it and I’d like to try it more, given the chance.

Moving on to the last one…

7. The Big Bang Theory

I’ve saved the best for last! I’ve included it in the previous board and I’m including it now because it’s really the best show to watch if you’re looking for show that’s light, funny, and 20-ish minutes long. During weekdays, it’s what I usually watch while having dinner and during weekends, my family and I usually watch it together at night.

If you haven’t tried watching it yet, I suggest that you do so. Although, if you’re tired from watching sitcoms, I suggest you

But if you aren’t

yet, you can binge watch The Big Bang Theory…

HAHAHAHAHA I’d apologize, but I’m not that sorry. After all, I wasn’t going to throw away

So there you have it, seven of my favorite things! I’ve also added some Hamilton in this post because how can I not? I was feeling

FOUR DAYS BEFORE CHRISTMAS!!! Though I’m not feeling as Christmas-y as I did when I wrote this post, it’s still Christmas season and we’ve got a lot of reasons to celebrate and be thankful for, especially for the birth of our lord and savior, Jesus Christ.

Once again, I’m a person who’s proud to be a Roman Catholic, but I respect you, whatever your religion or religious beliefs may be, so please do so for me, as well. I hope that you, too, will happily celebrate this season with your loved ones.

I guess that ends this post, but this month is only on its 21st day and I’ve still got a lot to write during this break.

My Favorite Things 005

As promised, I’ll be writing a “My Favorite Things” post today! I kind of had a difficult time for this one since it’s been more than 2 months since my last board and I’ve lose track of the things I like. I really should write them down for the next board so it’d be easier to compile them. But in any case, I still got 11 of my favorite things right now, so here we go!

1. The Big Bang Theory

I just started watching this yesterday, but I am enjoying it! It’s funny, light to watch, and just short enough to binge watch. I don’t have that much to say about this at the moment, but hopefully I’ll be able to update you when I’m gone deeper into the series (or to no return, some would say.. HAHAHA).

2. Hamilton in 7 Minutes – Animatic

So, I’ve loved Hamilton: An American Musical for almost a year now and, recently, I’ve gotten hooked with this particular animatic. It’s only 7 minutes long, but damn! It sends me into a feels trip, especially the last part. AND IT HAPPENS SO FAST THAT YOU’D NEED TO REPLAY CERTAIN PARTS IF NOT THE WHOLE THING!

3. Shakey’s Pizza – Manager’s Choice

Well, we don’t eat Shakey’s that often, so I appreciate the times when we do. Personally, their pizza wins, in terms of flavor, for me. Thankfully, I’ve had the chance to eat a lot of it these past 2 months because of certain occasions and people. Hopefully, I’d have some more of it in the coming days cos’ we’re supposed to have a free one this month!

4. Lipstick

I’m not much of a fan when it comes to makeup since I don’t really understand the need for it in regular days, but I’ve been trying it out these past few weeks and it’s alright, I guess. I kind of need to learn how to apply it on myself because I have to use it every Sunday and my makeup artist (aka my mom) is urging me to do my own makeup.

Well, a total of three wonderful human beings have complimented me on it, therefore I think I’m doing a “not so bad” job with it.

5. Angus, Thongs, and Perfect Snogging

I’ve actually watched this one waaaay before, but the movie’s alive again cos’ my sisters have stumbled upon it and they wanted to watch it. I’ve actually written a post about it when I was in the peak of my hormone-y teenage life (refer to MAD RANTING if you’re up for, as the title would suggest, “mad ranting”).

And I guess that’s what the move basically is – the teenage life of a teenage girl who’s going through what teenagers go through. Well, that and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who, unfortunately, isn’t in every teenage girl’s life. Sad.

6. Chihayafuru Live Action (Parts 1 & 2)

I actually just got to watch the first part for free in a movie theater near my university and I LOVED IT! I mean, I already knew about the movie and watched the trailer, but it did not prepare me for the intensity of the film! Watching it in the big screen just added to it’s intensity because you can really feel the passion within the characters while they chase after their goals.

Kurata isn’t just a card game. I guess I’ll leave it to you to find out why.

I guess two other reasons why I like the films so much is because Suzu Hirose’s such an amazing actress, filled with energy and passion as usual, and because Mackenyu Arata is such a cutie. Enjoy~!

7. The Flash

I’ve already included this in my previous board, but like skating, I’m still very much hooked by it. I finished the 3rd season more than a month ago and, THANKFULLY, I only had to wait a month and a day for the 4th season. I guess it wouldn’t be as easy to watch it now, since it’s ON-GOING, but I’m already so invested in the story and the characters that I can’t quit now. Believe it or not, there was actually a point in my life where I would dream about The Flash HAHAHA.

If you haven’t watched it yet, I STRONGLY suggest that you do. The trailer below’s for the 4th season already tho, so don’t watch it if you’re only starting to watch the series! Major spoiler alert!!

8. For Sale Card Game

One Monday night, my friend (slash dorm mate) and I suddenly craved for cheesecake. She just finished a hell weekend (4 EXAMS IN A WEEKEND, I THINK.. AND SHE HAD 2 EXAMS THAT DAY!), so we decided that she deserved it and I tagged along. While we were walking to the cafe, we bumped into another dorm mate and we all went together.

See, the cafe isn’t just a cafe – it’s filled with games! So while we were waiting for our food and after we ate, we played card games. Thankfully, there was a game master who was available and he taught us how to play the games.

I’ve already forgotten the other card game we played, but this particular one was a lot of fun, too. It’s basically a buy-and-sell game that doesn’t require much strategy. It doesn’t take up much time either, so it was fun and convenient for us.

9. Cheesecake & Kopiko 78

After little deliberation, I’ve decided to put these two together since they don’t need much of an explanation.

The cheesecake is cos’ of the encounter I’ve previously mentioned in #8. I wasn’t really planning on eating one that day, but I didn’t have a reason not to either. It was quite pricey, for me, but I didn’t regret the decision since we had a lot of fun in the cafe and the slice was pretty big, too.

And, on the other hand, I’ve been drinking Kopiko 78 more frequently this semester than any previous semesters, so I thought I’d include it. It’s my go-to drink for all-nighters and for days when I don’t think I’d be able to stop myself from sleeping (aka most days tbh). It’s really not something I should be drinking twice within 6 hours, but when the need calls for it, I always got a supply, in case.

And finally…

10. Head n’ Shoulders

Like most of the items in this board, I’ve stumbled upon this, by chance. My mom bought some since it was on sale, and let me tell you, it’s really good shampoo!  Though I don’t like how it irritates my eyes, the cool feeling I get when I wash it off is what I like about it the most. It also makes me feel that my hair’s really clean and it smells really good haha. I’ve been using it since summer classes and it’s really nice.

Aside from the shampoo, he’s actually someone I really like. Since this is a “My Favorite Things” board, I’m allowed to include him, right? For the people with whom I talk to about him (well, actually, it’s “for the people who are stuck with me talking about him almost 24/7”), it’s no secret how much I like him.

As I said in one of the poems, I’ve forgotten how scary it is to like someone. And it is VERY scary. There are good days and not-so-good days, but I’d take every chance I can get (correction: every chance I can get.. that doesn’t make me look like a stalker.. cos’ I’m not.. a stalker). I try not to think about him so much and, most times, I manage to do so, but thoughts of him are always just at the back of my mind.

AGAIN, let me just emphasize that I’m no stalker and I have nothing but WHOLESOME thoughts about him. He’s just a crush and I’m still allowed to have those, right?

In any case, he makes me happy to a high enough degree to be included here. Of course a lot of people and a lot of things make me happy, but well, you get the point, I hope.

And here ends this post. Hopefully, I’d be able to post “My Favorite Things” more frequently, but each interval would probably be no less than a month since I’d need to have new stuff added and it’s not actually easy to find new things to like in to a particular degree. I’m glad that I’ve been posting a lot more than before, so I hope this keeps up, too.

Goodbye for now~~!!

My Favorite Things 004

take me to the (3).jpg

I HAVEN’T WRITTEN A SINGLE POST FOR THE MONTH OF JULY!!! UNBELIEVABLE!! NEVER have I had a single month without posting since I began this blog (March 2012), until now. I’m both very sorry to my readers (if any) and to myself because I’ve let this blog down for a month and it’s just unacceptable, especially to past me.

But anyways, I’m back now and I am never not going to post for a whole month, no matter how busy and uninspired I might be. Since I haven’t posted in a LONG while, I’m gonna post something happy and decent… MY FAVORITE THINGS!!!

1. Ice Skating

Yuri! on Ice has definitely changed my life, at least in a small scale. It went from watching the anime to watching performances of real life skaters to trying my luck with the ice and, finally, to wanting to actually be good at skating.

I’ve only been skating for eight months (about 10 times, more or less) but I’m getting rather good at it. My forward skating is getting faster and my form is improving, too. I can glide with one foot at a time for about 3-4 seconds. I can also backward skate by doing backward swizzles! I’m getting better at it and a bit faster, but it still needs work. I like gliding side to side and, recently, I’ve been trying to spin by making a circle on the ice. I can’t really explain it well, but it’s a really fun move to do.

If you haven’t tried skating, I suggest you give it a try. I’ve made three out of four of my elementary best friends try it and two of them seem interested to learn more. One of them actually learned how to skate as a kid, but she’s already forgotten while one of them was very determined to learn without a coach, which is very admirable.

I absolutely love ice skating and I’m planning to save up to pay for formal lessons because apparently an assist coach can only teach you the basics.

2. I Know It’s Today Animatic (by Sugarberry Art)

A few months ago, my sisters showed me this animatic of the song “I Know It’s Today” from Shrek: The Musical and I just really liked it since then. I’m including it in this particular board because I recently downloaded the song on my phone and now I’m experiencing LSS. It’s supposedly sung by Fiona in the musical, but here, it’s sung by a girl who’s tired of waiting for her prince charming.

3. Spider-Man: Homecoming

Unfortunately, I didn’t get to watch Wonder Woman in the cinemas, but I did get to watch this awesome movie! Unlike all the other Spiderman movies, it doesn’t start from the begin with the whole Uncle Ben arc, rather it starts after Captain America: Civil War which is Spidey’s first cameo in a Marvel film. I guess I like how they started it from there in a way, since that arc was already used in twice. And yes, both of those versions made me cry a lot, especially Andrew’s.

I don’t want to spoil you on anything about the film, so let me just say that it’s got a lot of action and I think a lot more can relate to Peter this time around with him being thought of as a kid by “the adults”, with him having a crush and wanting to go to homecoming with her, with having a super cool best friend, and with wanting to do more with life.

I’m not really an expert, but I liked this movie and, if you have the time, you should watch it, too.

4. Plastic Memories

I’ve had a copy of this anime for a while now, but I heard it’s a bit of a tearjerker and I wasn’t up for those until recently. I think I’d spoil you if I say that it’s a lot similar to a particular anime, so let me just say that I think it deals a lot with life, friendship, and love. I know my description’s pretty vague, but it made me cherish life more and it made me remember the quote “Memento Mori” which translates to “Remember that you have to die”. I gave it a 9.5/10 just because I felt something was missing, but I couldn’t put my finger on it. Really solid anime and I definitely recommend it!

5. Ice Skating Tutorials

Related to the first item, tutorials from Youtube really help me learn how to ice skate better. Though I got an assist coach to check my form during forward skating and to teach me how to backward skate and stop, I think the tutorials are still very helpful to beginners and even for advanced skaters, as well. There’s a lot of them in Youtube, but the ones I’ve downloaded are from Hockey Tutorial, Eye Katie, and Sports and Outdoors.

6. The Flash

I just recently acquired a copy of all the episodes of The Flash from season 1-3 and I decided to binge watch before school starts. I’m already done with first season (binge watched till’ 3 am), so now I’m watching the second season. Since I’m a bit late, there’s A LOT of spoilers available on the internet, but I am sticking with just watching the series because if I spoil myself, even a little bit, I’d just want to know how things work out and end up not finishing the series.

I definitely think Grant Gustin is a cutie and a hottie (I mean, who doesn’t??) but that’s not the only reason why I love watching the series. It’s also cause’ of the action and the plot. The characters really have their own different personalities and the plot talks a lot about family, friendship, working hard towards your potential, and the future. It’s a really great series to watch and to follow (since season four’s coming soon!!!).

7. Inokori Sensei (English Cover by JubyPhonic)

Another video I’ve been slightly addicted to. I’m specifying a cover for this item, but the original one’s really good, too. I just can’t understand the Japanese characters in the title, so I just went with this one. I won’t tell you anymore about it cos everything’s spoilers, but it’s just a little over 5 minutes, so please do watch it!!

Original Version w/ English Subs:

8. Dean Fujioka

I knew him as the singer of the AMAZING Yuri! On Ice opening song, but damn this guy is really A LOT more than that. I found out he also acts in dramas (both Taiwanese and Japanese) and is fluent in four languages, besides his singing career! I just finished the last episode Please Love the Useless Me and thought to check the site if there were any more episodes when I saw the cast list and there he was! Dean freakin’ Fujioka!!

Not only is he an amazing singer and fluent in Japanese (1/4), but he’s also a great actor! Like daaaaaamn! You should really watch his dramas and keep in mind that he’s the singer of History Maker! I’ve watched two of them (Please Love the Useless Me and Hapi Mari). Also, he’s a 36-year old man married to a beautiful Indonesian woman with Japanese origins and they have two adorable children (twins!!).

Just keep that in mind when you watch the dramas haha. You’ll find someone, don’t worry.

Please Love The Useless Me:

9. ReLife

Like Plastic Memories, I had a copy of this anime for a while, but I only decided to watch it a few weeks ago. I’ve seen the manga around, so I was glad that they made an anime. It deals with friendship, a bit of love, and a lot about life. As you can probably tell from the title, the main character is given another chance at life and what he does from there on.. you’ll just have to see.

I gave the anime a 9.9999../10 only because it was cut too soon. I guess I’m just gonna have to read the manga. Also, it’s gonna have a live action this year!!

And last but not the least…

Well, that’s it for “My Favorite Things 004”! I really hope you give my suggestions a try cos’ they’re my go-to during sunny days and my silver linings during rainy days. I intentionally made it 10 things this time so that I don’t have to put a secret #10 haha.

Hope you’re having a great day and always always remember that you matter.

My Favorite Things 003

take me to the (1).jpg

Hello again! I’m not really used to having classes during my supposed summer, so it’s a bit challenging having to go to school when all you want to do is to stay in bed and watch anime, read books, and the like. In my last post, I promised to make my next post somewhat decent and less rant-y and I haven’t posted “My Favorite Things” for a while, so finally, here it is!

1. Choices: Stories You Play

Since I wasn’t able to properly install a certain game in our computer, no matter how hard I tried, so I decided to try Otome games (From wikipedia: literally “maiden game”; a story-based video game that is targeted towards the female market). I wasn’t really hooked by any of it cause’ most were more on the story telling side than the decision-making side. But then I found this game, “Choices: Stories You Play”, which is not exactly an otome, I think, but it’s got a lot of decision-making and what you decide really affects how things will go.

The stories are really nice and it’s fun making decisions for the characters. There’s a variation, too! Not only does it have stories of the romantic genre (which I really like!), but they also have stories of the fantasy and mystery genres. You can play the first chapter of each of the books, but you’ll need keys to play the rest of the chapters. You get two keys every two hours, but you can only have two keys you can use MAX. Basically, four hours can go by, but if you haven’t used your two keys yet, it’ll remain two keys. AND there are decisions or outfits that require diamonds, which you earn every chapter you finish, but it’s pretty difficult to save diamonds. So yeah, the keys and the diamonds are the only kind of “downside”, but they’re not really downsides, per se. And you can opt to buy more keys and diamonds with real cash, but I’m not that rich.

The trailer’s for iOS, but the game’s also available in the Google Play Store.

2. Goblin

I’ve been watching more KDrama than anime, recently, but it’s cause’ they’re so good! I’m having a hard time trying to describe how amazing Goblin is, but let me just say that it’s got a bit of action, some scenes taking place in a historical setting, quite a bit of romance, a lot of plot twists, a cute and really energetic lead girl, played by Kim Go Eun, a mysterious and cool-looking grim reaper who’s completely innocent about plenty of things, played by Lee Dong Wook, and, of course, the Goblin, played by Gong Yoo. And that’s only scratching the surface! There’s loads more to it, so I definitely recommend you watch it! I made my family watch the first episode and my mom was hooked af.

3. Fight for My Way

Fight for My Way is another Korean drama, but unlike Goblin, it’s currently on-going, as of writing, so I have to wait every Tuesday for TWO new episodes. It’s more of a “slice of life” kind of drama and a bit of romance here and there. I like this drama particularly because it shows the reality of chasing after your dream careers and having to live as an actual adult. There’s a certain plot twist that I’m not quite over with, but the pacing is good and I recommend that you watch this, too!

4. Hamilton: An American Musical

Need I say more?

Just kidding, Hamilton is just ABSOLUTELY legen(-wait for it-) DARY! I can’t really find the word for it, actually. Amazing? Awesome? Magnificent? Well, I’d say it’s all four and more! The songs will leave you with the LSS for months, the characters portrayed as real and human, and it will tell you A LOT about American history, enough to make you ace that exam, I’d say haha. If you can, please please watch it on Broadway, or anywhere it’s available (I’m seriously not sure). But if you can’t, there are a lot of animatics and full soundtrack videos on Youtube!

And let me just say: LIN MANUEL MIRANDA IS A GENIUS!!!

5. Riverdale

I actually finished this in less than a week, before my summer classes started. I had heard a lot of about it from my friends who’ve watched it, so I decided to give it a shot. And personally, I wasn’t disappointed. I got hooked by the first episode and the suspense and mystery made me watch it non-stop. The characters have different sides to them, the plot is really good, and the ending leaves you wanting more.

6. Hot Dog Bush

Just minutes after I passed my last requirement for my English class last semester, I thought of playing at, which is a site full of games. I remembered playing this particular one when I was a kid, so I tried playing it again and I realized that the game really gets you hyped up, in a way. It’s a food service game, but there’s a certain amount of money you’ve need to earn at the end of each day of the week and you serve in different venues. I couldn’t stop playing till’ I gave up trying to reach the quota for the day.. when I was already inside the alien spaceship.

7. Waving Through The Window (“Dear Evan Hansen”)

I’m not deep into the musical, YET, but I really like this particular song because it’s a lot of people, including me, could relate to it. It’s about feeling like an outsider or a wallflower, someone who’s invisible to everyone else. “When you’re falling in the forest and there’s nobody around, do you ever really crash or even make a sound?//Did I even make a sound? Did I even make a sound?//It’s like I never made a sound.//Will I ever make a sound?”. I know it’s a bit sad and lonely, but, for me, it makes me want to make noise and make people remember me and all that. If you don’t feel the same, then just remember that I think you’re never really alone and that you’re a beautiful human being.

And if that song’s a bit too sad, then try listening to “Sincerely, Me”. It’s got a funnier and easy-going vibe, so it’ll cheer you up after listening to the previous song, hopefully.

8. “Tasty” Videos

During study breaks, for me, it’s really relaxing to watch Tasty videos. And I actually have a “Must Try: Cooking” library which are recipes that I will, hopefully, try to actually cook.

9. Nestle Nesfruta: Dalandan

It tastes as citrus-y as lemonade and addicting af. Absolutely perfect for a hot summer day!

And a secret #10 because 9 is an odd number and I just need a 10th one, alright? HAHAHA

10. Doctor Who… A G A I N

My copy of the new Doctor Who seasons are all gone and I’m left with Youtube videos. I didn’t realize I needed it back in my life till’ I watched the video with River Song and Capaldi’s doctor (12th doctor). I thought I’ve already passed this phase in my life, but boy was I wrong.

So, there ya’ go! 10 of “my favorite things”, at the moment. I’m still quite horrible at describing them and persuading people to give it a try, but I hope you do try at least one or two of them because they’re really better than how I’ve described them. I’m positive that they’re definitely worth your time, except possible “Hot Dog Bush” because you might regret spending hours and hours playing it. Just give it a try, but keep track of the time. Enjoy!

My Favorite Things 001

Okay, so I decided to try something new for this blog, since it’s a new year, after all. I’m not quite sure what to call it yet so, for now, it’s called “My Favorite Things~” because I thought of that song from The Sound of Music while I was working on it. Basically, it’s a collage(-ish) of the things that I like (am sort of obsessed about) during a certain time. And what I’m posting today are the things I’m currently hooked to.

1. Yuri!!! on Ice

I started watching the anime during the week before Christmas. I didn’t think I’d like it that much since I wasn’t really into sports anime, but I’m so glad that I gave it a shot. I loved it! I don’t really want to spoil anything, so you could savor everything when you watch it, so I’ll keep my comments to a minimum. Besides the love you feel (yes, feel) between the characters, I loved the skating scenes because of the music and the skating itself. My appreciation for figure skating has increased a lot because of this anime and you’ll see in the next items how much this anime has affected my Christmas break and my life, as a whole.

2.Michael Martinez & Yuzuru Hanyu

While I was watching YoI, I also tried watching real life skating videos because I became interested in figure skating, in general. So I searched up Michael Martinez, the first skater in the Winter Olympics to come from Southeast Asia (kinda sounds like Phichit from YoI haha) and Yuzuru Hanyu, the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics champion. I started with these two because they’re the ones I was most familiar with, but I’m browsing through more and more skating videos. I have huge respect for everyone in the skating industry- whether it’s figure skating or ice hockey- for being so passionate about something, for striving for what they love doing, for their immense dedication and perseverance, and so much more.

3. Ice Skating

Another reason  why I salute skaters is because I know firsthand how hard it is to try skating. I mean, I’m sure most skaters started at a very young age, but I’m sure that they had to go through a lot to be as great as they are now (and they are great). I’ve only tried skating twice, but I kind of understand why they chose to pursue it anyway- because of that amazing feeling of gliding around the ice. And that’s just gliding! How much more amazing would it be to be able to spin and execute challenging jumps? Right now, I’m only a beginner, but I think it would be such a privilege to be able to learn more about skating. It also inspires me to strive for a fit body and healthy lifestyle because a skater would need stamina, endurance, flexibility, and the like to be able to skate properly and for a longer time duration. It’s something that bugs me a lot, but I know it’s possible and that I can do it (like Yuri haha goals!)

4. History Maker (Yuri!!! on Ice opening)

Whenever I listen to this song, I get really hyped! Originally, the song is sang by Dean Fujioka, but I’m currently really into Caleb Hyles’ version. The song itself is wonderful as it is though. It somehow gives me hope and motivates me to be better than I am now. I’m not really sure of anything at the moment, but I know that if I work hard enough, I can reach my dreams and go really far. I don’t know about making history, but I think that every little achievement is a milestone towards the future I want for myself. More than making history, I want to make an impact that would affect the lives of other people in a good way. I remember wanting to be in history books when I was younger, but now, I want people to remember me in their hearts as someone who did good, as someone who lived a good life and who gave it her all.

5. Bungou Stray Dogs

My siblings have been recommending this anime to me for a long time, but I only decided to watch it after they convinced (kinda forced) me to watch the first two episodes. Saying it caught my interest would be such an understatement. I was taken by the plot and the characters, as well as the animation and the action. Like YoI, I don’t want to spoil you on anything, but it’s something I would really encourage you to watch. It’s got a balance of comedy, action, fantasy, and a bit of drama. The characters aren’t just characters, rather, they have their own distinct personality and characteristics that make them them.

You’d also see Atsushi Nakajima there in my board because he’s my favorite character (sorry, Dazai) mainly because of the character development you’d see from him. I can relate to him the most and you’ll just have to find out how when you watch it.

6. Watashi ga Motete Dousunda

I love this anime because of how light and funny it is. There’s almost no drama and, overall, it’s an easy-going anime. It’s something I’d watch when I feel too down because it’s funny enough to lift up my spirit a bit. I’m going to spoil you a bit by saying that it’s a reverse harem, but at the same time, it’s kinda not. They’re together not only because they like the same girl, but because they enjoy each other’s company. And, well, the girl is really into Boy’s Love (also known as BL), so that creates a funny twist to the usual reverse harem situation.  The characters are interesting in their own way and you just enjoy watching it.

As you could probably see, there’s more pictures of a certain character, Asuma Mustumi (aka Mutsumi-senpai) because I’m rooting for him. I mean, I like all the other characters, but he’s my favorite because of reasons you’d understand when you watch it!

7. Hamilton

I honestly don’t know much about this yet since I only started being a fan yesterday. It started when I heard my siblings listening and singing along to “Satisfied” and “Congratulations”. I decided to give it a try and ended up enjoying myself. I love the beat and the lyrics of the songs. I’ll probably search up more about it and listen to more of the songs in its soundtrack. Also, I hope that I’ll be able to watch it live someday.

8. Hot Seafood Salad

I’ve liked this dish for a very long time, but it’s been a while since I last tasted it, so being able to eat it this Christmas break was it’s own kind of heaven. I kept on saying “Oishii!” and “Umai”. I know that’s a bit weird, especially when heard by a stranger, but it can’t be helped. I loved the dish and I was only expressing how much I enjoyed the meal.  I want to learn how to make it, so I’d be able to eat it more often and so that I could share it with my family and friends.

And that ends the board of “my favorite things”. I got the idea to make this from something an upperclassman of mine used to do on her blog. Actually, my friend and I made our blogs because we were inspired of that said upperclassman, so yeah, you could thank her for this segment and my blog. I’d tag her here, but we’re not that close haha.

Most likely, I’ll be posting again really soon because college resumes in 7 days and I’m still having kinda mixed feelings about it. I’m mostly happy and positive about it though, so it should be alright.

‘Till next time~

(Note: Honestly, I started writing this post by typing whatever I felt, but I had to stop midway because I lost the inspiration to write. So I re-wrote this post, making it a bit more organized and what not, and it ended up pretty neat haha.)
